Morning Cup O' Mud: Scottie Reynolds In The Philippines

More alumni updates as Scottie Reynolds is finding work overseas just like Reggie Redding. Scottie is over in The Philippines with the Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters (try saying that 10 times fast - better yet, try not to laugh) as he looks to find work as the NBA lockout looks to be a lengthy one.

Scottie Reynolds in the Philippines | VUhoops.com
Scottie Reynolds arrived in the Philippines recently to join the Talk 'N Text Tropang Texters of the Philippine Basketball Association.

I sort of remember former Syracuse player Paul Harris playing for that team, but I'm too lazy to go search the archives on Nunes to dig up that story. I remember laughing though.

Not much to share on 2012 prospect Amile Jefferson, who is pretty much the only player Jay Wright is chasing in that class, but VUHoops has a update regardless. It's Amile or bust, but since we're already 1 scholarship over the limit for next season unless Maurice Sutton isn't brought back for a 5th year, it'll be a while until we get a decision from Jefferson, if we get one at all.

Ryan Arcidiacono, Savon Goodman and Daniel Ochefu are among the top Philadelphia-area high school basketball players in the 2012 class. Villanova is looking to land a 4th in Amile Jefferson.

Matt Szczur Rides The Bus: First Week in Daytona Editon | Fact On Villanova Sports
Matt Szczur's first week in Hi-A was decidedly "meh". He hit .280 in 25 at-bats, but he only hit one extra base hit (a double) and only walked once. Keep in mind that this is an incredibly small sample size, but it also shows that the Florida State League is significantly more difficult than the Lo-A Midwest League.

Big East Media Day 2011: The LobsterFest Contenders | Troy Nunes Is An Absolute Magician
The Orange will trot out four claw-crackers for the event, as well as noted competitive-eater Doug Marrone. Do any of them have what it takes to walk away from the weekend with their names in the record books?

Two Big East Players Named to the Walter Camp Award Watch List | Big East Coast Bias
The Watch List parade is finally over. The final watch list released today is for the Walter Camp Award, given annually to the nation's top college football player. The Walter Camp has historically been a little friendlier to defensive players in its voting, which is a nice offset to the Heisman Trophy, which only honors the quarterback or running back on the #1 team anymore.
