Morning Cup O' Mud: Bell And USA Fall Short Against Croatia

James Bell seems to be the only thing happening these days that is Villanova related - but hey, I'm not complaining when it's 90 degrees and sunny everyday. No need to be glued to the computer! Bell was held in check in a pretty much meaningless game for the US as they had already clinched 1st place in their group with yesterday's win over Lithuania.

Bell Scoreless as Croatia Wins Late |
Croatia took the lead on a three-point play with 48 seconds on the clock and held on to hand the American U19 squad it's first loss at the FIBA World Championships. Having already clinched the group, the game was meaningless to the USA.

With the 2011 class going through summer workouts on campus and the 2012 class on hold until Amile Jefferson decides where he's going, we're going to start digging a bit more on the 2013 crop. Reggie Cameron is a potential target for 'Nova, and reports a Villanova offer.

Cameron is an absolute sniper and at 6'7" provides a unique size that could be utilized out on the perimeter as well. He'd be a solid pickup for us in 2013 considering that we don't have that dead-eye shooter after losing Corey Stokes. The only knock on him appears to be his athleticism for somebody that big.
