Villanova WR Norman White Injured, Out For The Year

Tonight Villanova confirmed what many of us have feared for weeks now. Star WR and All-American Norman White will not play football this year for 'Nova after fracturing his left foot. The injury is officially being classified as a lisfranc injury of the left foot.

White has been seen in a walking cast for the last few weeks at Villanova practices and he was seen on crutches tonight at Lincoln Financial Field. After much speculate about his future with reports surfacing that the injury may be more extensive than first let down, the worst was confirmed.

This is a major blow to a young Villanova team, but an even tougher loss on White himself. He would have likely been an NFL pick after this season - but now things are more uncertain. White is eligible for a 5th year at Villanova, and right now I'd expect him to be back next year to show the NFL that he's over the injury and improve his draft stock.

Reading into the official release from the school, it sounds like White has already made up his mind to do that, which is great.
