Talley's Bone Marrow Bash

New, comment

On March 3, 2012, Villanova football head coach Andy Talley will host the second annual "Bash" on behalf of his charity at the Connelly Center at Villanova University. The Bash is a casual night of dinner and dancing that also features a raffle and silent auction to help raise money.

It is a casual event that was a big success for the foundation last spring. Former Villanova and Philadelphia Eagles star running back Brian Westbrook was among the 350 attendees.

Talley's foundation serves to support his program to register bone marrow donors, support the efforts of other programs and to directly help individuals in need of transplants. Talley hopes that the foundation's funding will ensure that the annual bone marrow drives will become part of the Villanova culture of giving — his way of "igniting change."

We wrote about the foundation and Coach Talley's efforts before Christmas. Now, it's time to finish the story:

To register for the Andy Talley Bone Marrow Foundation Bash, go to TalleyBoneMarrow.org or call 610-401-7665 for more information. Tickets cost $75 per person for the event that goes from 7pm until midnight and includes dinner, entertainment and an open bar (beer/wine).

For those who can't attend, consider donating money to the foundation or participating in the donor registry drive. This year's drive will be on Thursday, April 19, 2012, but those who won't be on campus as Villanova, can can receive a donor kit by mail at Marrow.org.
