After the second Spring practice this morning, super-senior Norman White, who sat out the 2011 season with a lisfranc injury in his left foot, and senior center Dan Shirey were appointed as team co-captains for the 2012 Villanova football season. White was also named a captain prior to last season.
Shirey was an All-Conference selection in 2010 and 2011, earning a first-team selection after his junior campaign. He was one of the most-experienced members of a young offensive line last season and is expected to anchor the unit again this season.
White had a break-out junior year after previously backing-up eventual NFL-signee Brandyn Harvey during his first two seasons. He was a first-team all-conference selection in 2010 after grabbing 69 catches for 886 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Both players will likely be looked at by NFL scouts this season.
Villanova's next Spring practice will take place on Friday morning, March 23, at 8:00 a.m.
