ESPN's Andy Katz, who has had his finger on the pulse of BIG EAST realignment has noted that the Catholic-7 schools leaving the Big East- Villanova, DePaul, Georgetown, Providence, Seton Hall, and St. John's will be meeting after the holidays to determine a departure date.
The plan for the seven would be to get out for next season, but that's unlikely. A more realistic scenario is to cut out on July 1, 2014, a year before the 27-month exit of July 1, 2015. The lack of a television deal for the 2013-14 men's basketball season is a major concern for the seven.
What do you think about this news? Happy to see the C-7 presidents actually planning this out?
