Junior PG Maalik Wayns and sophomore SF James Bell both appear set to miss out on Saturday's night clash between the Villanova Wildcats and Notre Dame Fighting Irish at the Wells Fargo Center. Neither player participated in Friday's practice.
Wayns injured his left knee last week against Providence and missed the South Florida loss, while Bell injured himself in a freak play where he jumped into the air and his left foot landed on the ball, causing a high ankle sprain against USF. Bell was able to return the game, but was ineffective in limited action.
"Obviously we would miss both of those guys but this is an opportunity for some of our younger guys to contribute and gain experience," stated Wright.
I'm pretty sure this entire season has been an opportunity for the younger players, but what do I know.
