The Villanova men's lacrosse team pushed their record to 3-0 on the season by taking care of crosstown rivals Drexel (1-2) 14-9 on Tuesday night (box score). Drexel, ranked 18th in the country, couldn't keep up with 'Nova early as the 'Cats jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first period.
Junior attackman Will Casetano led the team with 2 goals and 3 assists on the night as 8 different 'Nova players posted points in what turned out to be a fairly easy victory at Villanova Stadium after Drexel closed the gap to 8-5 at halftime.
Senior goalie Dan Gutierrez made 11 saves on the night and Thomas Croonquist was once again spectacular on the faceoff, going 15-26 in the game.
The team is back in action this Saturday at noon when they travel to face Delaware (2-3).
