No. 8 Villanova Lacrosse Upset By Delaware 13-9

Not a good afternoon for the Villanova men's lacrosse team as they were upset at Delaware by the score of 13-9. Even more shocking, Villanova not-so-surprisingly jumped out to a 6-1 lead at the start of the game before things completely turned around and Delaware ended the game on a 13-3 run to turn the game on it's head and hand 'Nova their first loss of the season, and their first to Delaware since 2008.

Villanova was held scoreless for nearly 27 straight minutes beginning at the 10 minute mark of the second quarter and lasting until the 13 minute mark in the final quarter. The Hens were able to score 8 straight goals during that run including the game-tying goal at 6 just a couple of minutes into the 2nd half before going on to take the lead.

The stats are pretty telling in this game as Delaware beat 'Nova 50-32 on ground balls and won 19 of 26 faceoffs. Villanova was also 0-3 on extra-man chances. Tough to win when the stats appear like that

Villanova next plays at Franklin Field against #19 Penn next Saturday at 3 p.m. ET.
