Josh Hart Names Top 3 Of Villanova, Penn State & Rutgers

The 2013 swingman is down to 3 schools.

With the commitment of Allerik Freeman to UCLA yesterday, Villanova will likely now set their sights on 2013 wing Josh Hart in the coming months. Hart spoke to NRS on Friday and let it be known that Villanova, Penn State and Rutgers are sticking out above the rest. Hart's timeline for a commitment remains the same; he'll look to decide in by the start of his high school season.

"Villanova, Penn State and Rutgers are standing out because of the relationship I have with those three coaching staffs," Hart told NRS. "That’s nothing negative on Miami or Xavier; I’ve just built a better relationship with those other staffs."

Hart is at Rutgers this weekend for an official visit, and will also trip to Miami (FL) at the end of September. He isn't sure if he will take an official visit to Xavier.

One angle that we were all unsure about was the resignation of his AAU coach Doug Martin from the Villanova staff, and how that would affect his recruitment. Hart cleared that up as well.

"That doesn’t really affect me too much because they picked up their recruitment of me last winter so they were there before that whole thing ever happened," Hart said. "That’s not really that big of a factor."

With Freeman off the board, the Harrison twins still a longshot, and room for just one more guard-type of player in 2013, the 'Nova staff will likely put the full court press on Hart in the coming weeks to secure a commitment from the talented wing.
