Prowling The Roster: #93 Mark Hamilton

We're counting down the days to Villanova's season opener by profiling every player on the roster.

#93 K/P Mark Hamilton

Senior, 5'11" 175 lbs.

Gaithersburg, MD

2012 Stats: Hamilton went 9-12 on field goals, with his long being 41 yards. His punting was his calling card, as he averaged 41.5 yards on 53 punts, downing 19 inside the 20-yard line and inducing 26 fair catches. He had 8 punts of over 50 yards. He was named CAA Special Teams Player of the Week against Maine for a career-day in punting yardage.

Depth Chart Position: Firmly entrenched as the starter for both field goals and punting duties. Chris Gough will likely handle the kickoffs again as he has the stronger leg.

How He Came To Villanova: Hamilton was an All-County and All-Met pick at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Maryland.

Expected Output In 2013: After being curiously left off the All-CAA team in 2012 after making the 3rd team in 2011, Hamilton should be one of the best special teamers in the conference, and if he has the season he and the team are hoping for, could push for national honors.
