2012 Stats: Jon Green redshirted in 2012 and will be a redshirt freshman this Fall.
Depth Chart Position: Green will mostly spend the year learning the Villanova offense's blocking schemes and getting stronger. He doesn't appear on our early two-deep projection, but his size makes him a possibility to get on the field at some point and potentially move up the depth chart.
How He Came To Villanova: The North Schuylkill lineman was already massive when he committed to Villanova, but with an established offensive line, Green knew he was likely to redshirt last season. At just 6'2", he wasn't the ideal height that some bigger schools were looking for, but he fit the Villanova mold of an athletic and versatile lineman. He started all four years in high school and was First team All-State in both football and baseball and was a member of the National Honor Society.
Expected Output In 2013: Green will probably still spend the majority of his time on the sidelines, unless there is an injury on the offensive line. The coaching staff likes to take their time developing players in the trenches and Green is no different. A superlative performance in preseason could change some minds though.
