Prowling The Roster: #29 Jerry Miles

We're counting down the days to Villanova's season opener by profiling every player on the roster.

#29 DB Jerry Miles

Junior, 5'11" 195 lbs.

Dublin, OH

2012 Stats: Miles played in all 12 games, totaling 22.5 tackles (18 solo, 9 assists) and 1 TFL. He filled in at both CB and S during the season.

Depth Chart Position: After a strong spring Cam McCurry looks to have the edge at the third safety spot, but with 'Nova needing help at both CB and S, Miles should see plenty of playing time in nickel packages.

How He Came To Villanova: Miles was a start at Scioto High School where he was a three-time All-League selection, while also picking up Honorable Mention All-State honors during his senior season.

Expected Output In 2013: While McCurry currently has the edge, Miles has the experience and so should see plenty of playing time at safety. He's also competent at CB and with only Craig James returning there, he could be utilized if others struggle.
