Prowling The Roster: #15 Joey Harmon

We're counting down the days to Villanova's season opener by profiling every player on the roster.

#15 LB Joey Harmon

Junior, 6'0 235 lbs.

Pembroke Pines, FL

2012 Stats: Harmon played in all 12 games last season and was in the rotation at outside linebacker. He had 37 tackles (29 solo) and 2.5 sacks. All of his sacks came in a single game against James Madison last season and two of them were for a safety.

Depth Chart Position: Harmon will battle it out with Pat Haggerty for a starting job at linebacker but will be in heavy rotation regardless.

How He Came To Villanova: Harmon was at the Salisbury School in Connecticut before Villanova. The two-star recruit was doing a prep-school year after competing at American Heritage in Plantation, Florida where he drew big school interest.

Expected Output In 2013: Harmon started as a Freshman, but lost that job to Haggerty last season. He will compete to take back his starting spot this fall, but win-or-lose, the junior linebacker will play a significant role for the Wildcats. With a glut of talent at linebacker, competition to play will be getting fierce the next two years, so expect Harmon to continue to put out max-effort on gameday and increase his stat totals over last year.
