#42 LB Corey Majors
Sophomore, 6'1" 240 lbs.
2012 Stats: Majors played sporadically, backing up starting MLB Devon Bridges.
Depth Chart Position: Majors is primed to start at MLB for the Villanova defense and head up a unit that at times struggled to contain the run a year ago.
How He Came To Villanova: Majors was the star at Neshaminy High School, and was a highly recruited 3-star athlete who held several D1 offers. He opted to stay closer to home, but had to take a year off and improve his academics at Worcester Academy in Massachusetts before enrolling at Villanova. The experience, as Mike Kern profiles, has rewarded Majors in a big way.
Expected Output In 2013: Devon Bridges is considered an enormous loss for a LB corps ripe with depth but lacking in experience. Majors has FBS-level talent and will be expected to replace Bridges' production, and maybe even increase it. He should be a star on defense this coming season.
