The Sun's Arizin: Villanova Wildcats news and links for October 15, 2013

New, comments

Daily Villanova Wildcats links, today featuring Mikal Bridges, roundtables & the offseason coaching carousel.

Happy Tuesday, 'Nova Nation! Today is Big East Media Day. I was hoping to attend, but I'm swamped in meetings all day so Mike, Brian and I will be bringing news as soon as we're able to get it. Keep your eyes peeled to the VU Hoops Twitter - that's the quickest way we deliver breaking news.

Scratch all of that, I forgot what day it was. Big East Media Day is WEDNESDAY.

And now, the "news."

Bridges, Great Valley looking to sustain last season’s success | City of Basketball Love
Nice interview with Mikal Bridges. Seems like a good leader and he's got some lofty goals this coming season. If you're in the neighborhood, try to get out this fall/winter and check out Bridges and Great Valley. FanPost opportunity!

Big East Roundtable: Part I | A Daily Dose of Hoops
Here's part one of a roundtable we participated in. I was obviously unaware I had the ability to provide some commentary, so apologies in advance for my abrupt answers. Still, you'll enjoy the various views on how the conference shakes out this year.

Kentucky is's preseason No. 1 team |
The CBS college basketball "experts" (and I use that term quite loosely), pick their Top 25 + 1 to start the season. Not a lot of love for the new Big East. Somewhat related, if you aren't following this Fake Jon Rothstein Twitter account, you really should be.

Dauster doesn't like the Brandon Miller hire for Butler - or a least the immediate success of it. I think they'll have a down year relative to their recent success, but they are now almost becoming so forgotten that they are severely underrated again. One thing we can all agree on: Eddie Jordan & Rutgers appear headed for more flameouts.
