Villanova Basketball Recruiting 2016: Amarveer Singh lands offer

'Nova has reportedly offered the rising sophomore wing.

Jersey City, NJ 6'7" wing Amarveer Singh has picked up an offer from the Villanova Wildcats, per SNY's Adam Zagoria. Singh plays his high school ball for St. Peter's Prep and is a member of the New York Lightning AAU program.

Singh is a new name for Villanova fans, but he's also added offers from Virginia, Seton Hall, Rutgers, Manhattan, Fairleigh Dickinson and Wagner.

Here's St. Peter's Prep coach Todd Decker on Singh, via SNY:

"As a sophomore, he plays with a such high energy level and passion for the game. He shoots the ball so quickly and his release is very high. I think if he continues to build strength in the weight room and gets more explosive and understands the ins and outs of the game, he’s going to be a very special player."

Jay Wright seemingly has offered his top player across the board in 2016, with PG Tyus Battle, SG Rawle Alkins, Singh, and forwards Sedee Keita and Kassoum Yakwe all reportedly receiving offers to date.
