The Sun's Arizin: Villanova Wildcats news and links for October 30, 2013

Daily Villanova Wildcats links, today featuring 2016 recruiting, advanced stats, and Mike Francesa calling historical events.

Anybody else having a Halloween party at the office today? Because we are. And while I have refused invitations to dress up seeing as I'm in my mid-late 20s and trying to make a career for myself, I know somebody is going to try and draw blood on me or something.

So that's depressing, along with there being no such thing as girls just dressing up as a hot whatever they want. Older VU Hoopsters, please tell me it gets better?

And now, the "news."

Statheads predict the Big East men's hoops teams | Rumble In The Garden
Two luminaries of tempo-neutral statistics released their rankings. How does the BIG EAST stack up? Well, for one, Villanova is one of the best defensive teams in the conference. KenPom said it, so you know it's true.

2016 Payton Pritchard Talks Unofficial Visits | Left Coast Recruiting
2016 PG Payton Pritchard recently unofficially visited Villanova (and a few others) and had some really nice things to say. Definitely one to keep an eye on when 2016 recruiting ramps up.

Has the NCAA found the Ed O'Bannon lawsuit's fatal flaw? | SBNation.com
The players clear another hurdle, but a Monday filing threatens to bring the entire case down. Very interesting, and if it works, very smart by the NCAA to push that angle. I think the NCAA wins out in this. There's no way that a jury will think Heisman winners suffered the same damages as kids who never played a down. What's that? America has lawsuits that don't make sense? Oh, neve rmind my previous thoughts.

Ole Miss suspends Marshall Henderson for 3 regular season games | SBNation.com
Don't you love it when a team takes a stand and suspends their star player indefinitely? And then, when games are about to begin, they change that to a minimal suspension? That's my favorite part.

Mike Francesa narrates 1862 | YouTube (KFCradio)
For any of the NYC/NJ crowd on here (or anyone that knows Mike Francesa is), this is a must watch. I spent the entire clip laughing out loud, with people staring at me in the office. "Ah you a slave? Ah you a slave? Then how do YOU know they want to be free?"
