In what will be a competitive Big East conference, even with the loss of Syracuse and Notre Dame, the Villanova men's lacrosse team has been picked to finish 3rd out of 7 by the coaches in the preseason poll.  The newest team in the conference, the Denver Pioneers, were selected to finish at the top of the standings, while perhaps somewhat surprisingly, the St. John's Red Storm were picked to finish second.

In addition to the preseason poll, 13 players were named to the Coaches' Preseason All-BIG EAST team.  Four Wildcats are on the list, including midfielder John Kluh, faceoff specialist Thomas Croonquist, defenseman Chris Conroy, and long stick midfielder John LoCascio, who was also recently named a preseason 1st team All-American by Inside Lacrosse.

Villanova head coach Mike Corrado has once again worked to put together what should be one of the toughest schedules in the country, with notable out of conference games such as Penn, Maryland, Princeton and Johns Hopkins. The entire schedule features 10 teams that were ranked at the close of the 2013 season.
