The Sun's Arizin: Villanova Wildcats news and links for December 9, 2013

Daily Villanova Wildcats links, today featuring St. Joseph's (PA) paying homage, football recruits winning state titles, and Temple's latest dumpster fire.

Happy Monday, 'Nova Nation! Starting the week 9-0 feels great (raise your hand if you thought we'd be saying that before the season), but now it's a long week until we face off with La Salle next Sunday afternoon. Get ready for a long agonizing week where I try to keep you busy in The Sun's Arizin.

Maybe the higher powers will smile on us and give us some good recruiting news to obsess over.

And now, the "news."

Phil Martelli bows down to Villanova | philly.com
Our bald friend down the road thinks that Villanova is better than preseason #1 Kentucky. Ignore him! He's clearly trying to inflate our ego's and jinx us with some sort of Hawk Hill voodoo magic.

Confidence continues to grow for the Wildcats | philly.com
I'm really starting to wonder what the conference season is going to be like. Playing with a target on your back is really tough. And we haven't done that in a long while.

Delsea 'Rolle's' to second straight South Jersey Group III football title | NJ.com
Villanova commit Rob Rolle was at the center of Delsea's second straight state title. He won't play QB for us, but it's clear he's a playmaker once he gets the ball in his hands.

Lady Cats Fall to Saint Joseph's (PA), 63-60 | Villanova University Official Athletic Site
A consolation prize for St. Joseph's (PA).

Reaction rolls in on Temple cuts | philly.com
The petitions are starting already at Temple, and the school is in full spin mode. I can't help but think of karma in a situation like this. When Temple joined the Big East, they borderline gloated over Villanova. Grab a chair and watch this dumpster fire, because it is beautiful.
