According to a French-language website, the Los Angeles Clippers have added Maalik Wayns to their roster today on a 10-day contract. He will replace Jamal Crawford, who suffered an ankle injury that will keep him sidelined for a while.
They picked him up from the NBA D-League's Rio Grande Vipers, where he had landed after the Sixers cut him in January to avoid guaranteeing his salary through the remainder of the season. In the D-League, he averaged 12 points, 3 assists and 3 rebounds.
It isn't clear if Wayns could stick with the Clippers beyond his 10-day contract, but it will be another opportunity to try and impress NBA officials, whether with the Clippers or not.
Congrats to my guy @maalikwayns2 back in the league!you belong there and shout out to @dionwaiters3 playing well ROY candidate Ilove it!
