Daryl Myers Schedules Unofficial Visit To Villanova

One of the very best point guards in the class of 2016 will be at Villanova in two weeks.

Daryl Myers Jr. Twitter Profile

While the class of 2013 is still (hopefully) being settled, there will be a major visitor from the class of 2016 on campus shortly. Yes, 2016 is a long way off, and a lot can change in the next 2-3 years, but Daryl Myers is already getting a lot of hype as the next great point guard to come out of Oak Hill Academy.

The good news is that Myers will be on the Villanova campus in two weeks for an unofficial visit, likely the weekend of May 4-5 based on the proposed timeline.

Since college coaches are not allowed to have phone contact until June 15th of a prospect's sophomore year, there likely won't be much movement on Myers' recruitment until this summer when he really begins to blow up on the AAU circuit. However, prospects can speak to college coaches when they are on campus, thus giving Jay Wright an early opportunity to get seriously involved in Myers' recruitment.

Myers played his freshman season at Fredericksburg Christian, posting a line of 6.4 ppg, 2.8 apg, 1.9 rpg and 1.3 spg. According to his Twitter, it appears he will be moving on to Oak Hill Academy for next season.

In the brief highlights below, you'll see Myers display a confident shooting stroke from the outside as well as the ability to finish strong at the rim, despite being listed at just 5'7" and 135 lbs. The most impressive aspect of his game is his filthy ball handling, and the incredible passing display he puts on. Just a freshman, you can see why many are already comparing him to former Oak Hill, and current NBA star Brandon Jennings.
