Jack Rice's five-goal output paced the Wildcats to an 11-9 victory over Rutgers on Saturday in front of 1336 at Villanova Stadium.
The win improves Villanova's BIG EAST record to 3-0 (4-6 overall) as 'Nova topped the Scarlet Knights in nearly every aspect of the game. Those looking at the box score will notice Nova edging Rutgers in most categories including outshooting the Knights 47-25 through the game. The Wildcats also collected a 32-38 edge in ground balls on the night and won the ground ball battle 32- 28.
Following the game, head Coach Corrado commented on the five-goal performance, "Rice stepped up and had a breakout game for us today with five goals. It was good to see him connect since he’s been heavily defended against this whole season."
Next up for Villanova is a trip to #10 St. John's next Saturday, April 13th. Faceoff is scheduled for 3p ET.
