The Sun's Arizin: Villanova Wildcats news and links for April 9th, 2013

Daily Villanova Wildcats links, today featuring the close of the college basketball season, the importance of iPads, and Mouph's drive towards the NBA.

As I write this, I'm fresh out of 4th Street Bar & Grill in San Francisco. Big Michigan crowd there tonight for whatever reason (in fact, they are all over San Francisco) and they left very depressed. I don't know about y'all, but I thoroughly enjoyed that basketball game.

A lot of VERY good players, two good coaches, and more than a few controversial calls late in the game. Lots of oohs and ahhs from the bar crowd.

I'm sad that it's another 7 months until college basketball is back.

On to the links!

Rutgers commissioning review of basketball scandal | wwltv.com New Orleans
Rutgers University announced Monday that it's commissioning an independent review of the conduct of fired basketball coach Mike Rice and the way the university handled the situation. Cause nothing is better than calling MORE attention to an ugly event.

Former Rutgers Scarlet Knights AD Tim Pernetti getting $1.2M, iPad - ESPN New York
I'm sorry, he got an iPad in his settlement with the university? Why was that so important? I'm thinking that Pernett is a huge Game of Thrones fan and needs the HBO GO app at his fingertips at all times.

Report: Villanova's Wright making $2.29 million - Philly.com
I knew Jay Wright was stackin' bills, but I didn't know it was this much. Have to be honest - a bit overpaid for the results of late. Time to put up or shut up, Jay.

Galloway, Wyatt, Yarou headed to Portsmouth | City of Basketball Love
Another good opportunity for Mouph to prove that he belongs in the NBA. The names in the Portsmouth Invitational typically tend to be well-known guys that for whatever reason don't seem to be getting a lot of NBA hype. In other words, it's moving day for Mouph.
