Villanova Football Recruiting: Jamil Demby, OL, Class of 2014

The football coaches have made the trek to Vineland, New Jersey multiple times to check out 2014 prospect Jamil Demby.

Jamil Demby Twitter Profile

Jamil Demby is a 6'5", 290 lb. offensive linemen, plying his trade for Vineland South High School in New Jersey. Demby is currently not rated on Rivals, or Scout, but is generating a lot of interest at both the FBS & FCS level. Though he has not collected any offers yet, Boston College, Maryland, UConn, Rutgers, James Madison, Delaware, and Old Dominion, amongst others, have all stopped by to check in on him.

Demby's stock appears to be picking up, with Rivals' Shawn Brown tweeting that Demby performed well at a recent Rivals camp.

Demby also attended the recent New Jersey Nike Football Training Camp, where he impressed Scout's Brian Dohn, who ranked him the 4th most impressive offensive lineman at the camp.

Skinny: He was able to kick-step back and keep the defensive end from getting around the edge. Strength was a bit of an issue, but his positioning was good. He also got his hands out in front of him and didn't let the defensive ends get off his blocks.

More importantly, Demby appears to be interested in the Wildcats, sending out the following tweets in succession in early May.

Villanova was back in to see Demby today (their second visit this month), perhaps a sign that they intend to make the big guard a prime target for this recruiting cycle.

With both Bill Vogel and Dan Shirey set to graduate after the 2013 season, quality offensive linemen will surely be a priority for Andy Talley and his staff, and Jamil Demby fits the profile well.
