CBS Sports notes, "He plays hard and doesn't mind banging on the low block, crashing the glass and getting position on the offensive end. His face-up range is also steadily improving."
The Recruiting Contact period for rising high school juniors began on June 15th, and Villanova Assistant Coach Billy Lange was one fo the first to contact Delaney.
The rising junior visited the campus over the weekend and realized that "Villanova gives him the opportunity to play basketball at a high level in the new Big East," according to Delaney's AAU coach, Matt Pauls, in a conversation with Scout[$]. Pauls added, "He really likes the academic environment and he connected with coach [Jay] Wright and the coaching staff and players."
While speaking to City of Basketball Love, Delaney noted, "I had already been leaning towards there but that visit kind of made me sure that was the place I wanted to go."
All while remaining close to home.
Delaney selected the Wildcats over Butler, Penn State, Oregon State, Rutgers, and LaSalle.
