Jay Wright got some great news on Tuesday as Great Valley's Mikal Bridges committed to the Villanova program as the first recruit from the Class of 2014. The City of Basketball Love recruiting report on Bridges notes, "he has a lethal jumper that can be lights-out on occasion, and is an above average rebounder, 3-point shooter, and defender."

Here are some of the reactions from around the web...

City of Basketball Love- "As soon as I met Jay Wright and as soon as I met the coaches I knew I was going to like it. I knew I was definitely going to come here. It’s a great school."

Scout [$]- "Bridges broke out during his final game at the EYBL Hampton event scoring 17 points and reeling in eight rebounds. Bridges showed toughness, high-level athleticism and a good-looking shot."

He was ranked #73 in their newest Class of 2014 rankings released earlier in the week.

NBC Sports- "Playing with Team Final in the EYBL, he is second on this team in third scoring and second rebounding, averaging 10.7 points and 5.4 boards per game."

ESPN [$]- "Bridges is exactly the type of forward you want to take right now. A late bloomer by today’s standards, he’s popping up on Top 100 lists because of his talent."
