Back in February, we noted that Jay Wright had extended Gil St. Bernard's (NJ) freshman Tyus Battle a scholarship. Villanova hasn't let down since then.
According to Inside the Hall, 'Nova and Indiana are recruiting the 6'5" shooting guard "the hardest".
Battle earned First Team All-Somerset and Second Team All Freshman/Sophomore honors as he averaged 11.8 points per game for Gill St. Bernard's.
The rising sophomore is ranked #7 in the Class of 2016 by ESPN, has a 6'9" wingspan and considers "getting to the basket and on the ball defense" as his strengths.
Throughout the summer AAU tournaments, Battle told Scout, "I saw Villanova at my games quite a bit. It is an honor to have them there, especially since I am so young and not a lot of kids get that attention this early."
Syracuse, UConn, Cincinnatti, Vanderbilt, Miami, SMU, and Washington are among the list of 13 schools who have offered the 2016 recruit.
