Former Villanova Wildcats frontliner Mouphtaou Yarou has landed his first real shot at an NBA roster after being invited to the Golden State Warriors minicamp. The news came out via Jay Wright's Twitter account.
Good luck to @Myarou13 - headed off to Golden State Warriors' mini-camp!

The Warriors are currently heading into the 2013-2014 season with Andrew Bogut and David Lee highlighting their frontline. Bogut is in the final year of his current contract and Lee has 3 years remaining on his current deal. After that, it's, Dwayne Jones (sitting on a team option that hasn't been picked up yet) and Festus Ezeli (just announced he will miss 6-9 months after knee surgery). Harrison Barnes deputized when Lee went down last year, but is a more natural fit at the 3 along with Draymond Green.
With all that in mind, the Warriors are definitely a little thin on the frontline after the injury to Ezeli and Jones' lack of production and so the offer to give Yarou a chance to impress makes sense. Hopefully he makes the most of it.
Maurice Sutton gets a chance with the Wizards
In other Wildcat alumni news, Mo Sutton is getting a shot with the Washington Wizards.
Good luck also to @MoeSutton25 - has a workout set with #Wizards
