2014 Villanova Football Recruiting: ATH Rob Rolle Commits

A promising athlete who projects in the defensive backfield pledged to Villanova on July 18th. How we missed that, I couldn't tell you.

The Villanova Wildcats have picked up a verbal commitment from Rob Rolle of Franklinville, NJ. Rolle, a 6'1" 175 lb. RB/DB plays his high school ball for Delsea High School - the same school as current RB Austin Medley. Rolle committed to Villanova over offers from Massachusetts, William & Mary, and Monmouth.

(Editor's Note: Villanova University!)

On the above note of Rolle being recruited as a DB: he plays RB, WR and CB for Delsea and as you can see from his Hudl tape, he's pretty good at all three positions. Watching his home run ability with the ball in his hands, I'm a little surprised that he was recruited primarily as a DB. Perhaps that's his preference, in which case I'm thrilled to have an athlete of his caliber roaming in the secondary. Rolle also stars in track & field at Delsea, in both the 4x100 relay and the 110 hurdles.

Rob Rolle becomes the seventh verbal commitment in the 2014 class, joining OL Rick Young, WR Alessandro Padovani, K Steve Weyler, QB Zach Bednarczyk, OL Chris Buchalski and DB Mark Clements.
