Official basketball practice starts tomorrow, but CBS and WFAN reporter Jon Rothstein swung by the Davis Center earlier to watch the Villanova Basketball team workout.
Last year, Rothstein, you may remember, gave the public the tip that Ryan Arcidiacono would be the team's starting point guard after a similar preview session.
In a series of tweets, Rothstein doesn't really unveil anything groundbreaking with the exception of the shooting prowess of freshman Kris Jenkins. He talks about the team's maturity, some of the players, and provides quotes from Jay Wright at the end. Without mentioning depth in the Big Man spots, here is what Rothstein shared...
Greetings from the Main Line. Here to check out Villanova. Cats should be one of best teams in the Big East. pic.twitter.com/ICMwZibJMu

Villanova's overall talent doesn't jump off the page, but the Cats have chemistry, cohesion, + culture. Direct carry over from last season.

Kris Jenkins is down at least 20 pounds. Significantly slimmer than he was in high school. Could be Villanova's best shooter. 6-5.

Early prediction on Villanova starting five --- Ryan Arcidiacono, Darrun Hilliard, James Bell, Jayvaughn Pinkston, Daniel Ochefu...

So much Dwayne Anderson in James Bell.....
— Jon Rothstein (@JonRothstein) September 26, 2013
Darrun Hilliard is Villanova's forgotten man. 6-6 lefty averaged 11 PPG last year. Has added size and strength. Very capable scorer.

One thing Villanova didn't have last year? A guard who could break someone down off the dribble. That should change with Dylan Ennis.
— Jon Rothstein (@JonRothstein) September 26, 2013
Both Tony Chennault and Dylan Ennis have the ability to really pressure the ball defensively. Will be nuisances to play against.
— Jon Rothstein (@JonRothstein) September 26, 2013
Josh Hart will be a solid role player for Villanova. Can guard multiple spots at 6-5. Will bring intangibles. Good program guy.

Villanova isn't being mentioned as a contender at the top of the Big East - but they should. Cats' sum is greater than its parts.
