Former Explorers' star, Tom Gola, passed away at age 81 at St. Joseph's Manor in Meadowbrook. He helped take La Salle to the 1952 National Invitation Tournament title and 1954 NCAA title.

Junior Robert Hurlbut (Rochester, N.Y.) took home a first place finish in the 3000 meters and Villanova competed in six events at the Tiger Open on Saturday afternoon. A total of seven athletes were in competition for the Wildcats in the meet at Jadwyn Gym on the Princeton campus.
