Daily Villanova Wildcats links, today featuring Philly dominance, resiliency, and remembering the old Big East.

Thursday has arrived! And as you'll see below, it's "Philly media appreciates 'Nova" Day here at VU Hoops. The amount of content they put out yesterday related to our beloved Wildcats is astounding. I'm beginning to realize they aren't so bad after all - they're just like anyone else from Philly. They love you when you win, and they act like you killed their family dog when you lose.

Fair enough, right?

And now, the "news."

Villanova a lock for NCAA tourney; others in city are not |
The Wildcats are playing for seeding in the NCAA Tournament. The other city schools will have to win their conference tourneys.

Villanova has proven a lot this season, and most recently the Wildcats (18-2) have shown they can bounce back after figuratively being punched in the mouth.

Howie Long recalls 'best of times' at Villanova |
Howie Long will be a major part of Fox29's pregame show before the Super Bowl on Sunday. He's a Super Bowl winner himself and an NFL Hall of Famer. Long said Tuesday at Super Bowl media day that he would not be in this position if not for his time at Villanova, where he played football and graduated with a communications degree in 1981.
