The Sun's Arizin: Villanova Wildcats news and links for January 7, 2014

Daily Villanova Wildcats links, today featuring some more polls, Trey John's offseason, and Radnor raising my ire another level.

Happy Tuesday, 'Nova Nation! I've touched down in sunny cloudy Jupiter, FL where I'll be headquartered for the rest of the week. Did you know that NovaRaptor is a local in these parts? Rumor has it there could be a game meetup on Wednesday - I'll settle for nothing other than Duffy's.

(Editor's Note: If you don't know Duffy's/haven't been yet, please go soon)

If the schedule permits, I'll put an end to the question around whether he actually drinks Mike's Hard Lemonade or not.

And now, the "news."

Villanova up to #7 here - and frankly I'm surprised that Florida is above them at #6 while an undefeated Wichita St. sits below them in 8th. But hey, I'm not one to pick on a Top 10 ranking.

College Basketball Talk Bracketology: Villanova a 2-seed | CollegeBasketballTalk
Let me just say it - I LOVE that bracket (except for the opening games in Raleigh). Which means it will never happen. Of note: only 3 Big East teams are projected in this bracket - and Xavier isn't one of them. Can you guess without clicking through?

AP Top 25 Poll: Big East Not Represented Well | Rant Sports
There's a lot wrong in this article. From "Xavier has played three games away from home" (1 true road, 3 neutral) to "teams having success include UConn" (just lost back-to-back games to Houston and SMU). The winner of Creighton-Xavier should be ranked though, so there is that.

Poll Attacks: You guys realize UConn is no longer undefeated, right? | CBSSports.com
Furthering my point about "UConn having success" is the always reliable Gary Parrish, who regularly takes AP voters (and Coaches, for that matter) to the woodshed on a weekly basis.

Radnor Commissioner volunteers at Villanova games, and that's bad according to Radnor | Radnor, PA Patch
And is getting hammered for it because apparently VOLUNTEERING AT VILLANOVA AND DONATING YOUR PAYCHECK TO THE LOCAL LITTLE LEAGUE means you have a conflict of interest in the ongoing Radnor-Villanova debate. How stupid are these people?
