Villanova football added a big body to its defensive line next season with the commitment of Father Judge (Philadelphia, PA) defensive tackle Eric Drains. The 6-4, 275-pound defensive lineman will receive a scholarship from the Wildcats after signing with the program next month.

He becomes the 11th known commitment in Villanova's 2014 recruiting class and the 10th scholarship commitment. The class includes, OL Brandon Hitner, DB Rob Rolle, OL Rick Young, WR Alessandro Padovani, K Steve Weyler, QB Zach Bednarczyk, OL Chris Buchalski, RB Matt Gudzak and DB Mark Clements.
Before transferring to Father Judge as a junior, Drains attended Furness.
Drains also plays offensive tackle for Father Judge and participated on the wrestling team in the offseason. He was selected as a 2nd-Team All-Catholic honoree in the Philadelphia Catholic League for his work on the defensive side of the ball this season. He was a leader on the field for Judge, and often found himself making the key plays to stop opposing offenses.
