Last Season: The Xavier Musketeers finished the 2013-2014 season with a 21-13 (10-8) record.

Last Meeting/All-Time Series: The Villanova Wildcats lead all-time series 18-4. Last season's meetings with the Musketeers were the first wins Wright had against the school. Villanova defeated them last on March 6th by a score of 77-70. On Xavier's Senior Night, the Wildcats clinched the Regular Season Big East Championship.

Head Coach: Chris Mack, a Xavier alum himself, enters his 6th season at Xavier sporting a respectable 111-57 (.661) record. All of Mack's success comes when Xavier was in the Atlantic 10 Division, winning the Regular Season Championship in 2010 and 2011. He was named A-10 Coach of the Year in 2010. He advanced to the Sweet 16 in 2010 and 2012, losing in the First Round last year to the NC State Wolfpack.

Top Returners: Matt Stainbrook is the biggest part of this team, averaging 10.6 PPG and 7.4 RPG last year. He shot a super-efficient 55.6% from the field and threw in a block per game too. Dee Davis, a fellow senior, lead the team last year in assists and will look to fill the Semaj Christon void.

Key Losses: Semaj Christon graduated last year, leaving the Musketeers without their leading scorer. Justin Martin, their second leading scorer and one of the best free throw shooters on the team, transfered to SMU.

Key Additions: Xavier welcomes six freshmen this season: Larry Austin Jr., Edmond Sumner, Trevon Bluiett, Makinde London, Sean O'Mara and JP Macura.
