You may have read on the internet that Villanova's mountain of a Defensive Tackle, Pat Williams' career is over. That rumor has circulated through a couple of message boards around the web after the weekend's game against Morgan State.
In that game, Williams recorded one tackle and had a huge block on a Bears punt that helped to set up a 4-yard rushing touchdown for John Robertson. He may have seemed hurt during the game, however, but according to Villanova, Williams has not suffered a career-ending injury -- he simply was suffering from some soreness.
An Athletics Department spokesman has confirmed to VU Hoops that the defensive tackle will be in the line-up this week when the Wildcats travel to Richmond for a pivotal CAA Conference game.
The injury bug has hit the Wildcats this season, however. Defensive end Tanoh Kpassagnon, linebacker Corey Majors and tight end Earnest Pettway are all done for the season, while running back Gary Underwood will reportedly miss around four weeks as well (though, he should return for any playoff games). Center Ross Hall and running back Austin Medley are both just returning from leg injuries in recent games as well.
