Football Weekly Awards: John Robertson named CAA Offensive Player of the Week again

The Villanova quarterback has been named the CAA Offensive Player of the Week yet again...

Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

After a couple of weeks off of the CAA Football conferences' weekly honor roll -- partly due to an offensive outburst by JMU's Vad Lee -- Villanova quarterback John Robertson is back on top of the heap, winning his sixth CAA Offensive Player of the Week award. The quarterback helped lead the Wildcats win a win over new conference member UAlbany on Saturday.

With Robertson under center, the Wildcats scored a touchdown on each of their first six drives before punting for the first time. The quarterback was 15-of-21 passing (71.4%) for 225 yards and two touchdown passes (both caught by Kevin Gulyas). He also ran the ball 22 times, gaining 168 yards and scoring three more touchdowns on the ground. He set a season high for total yardage in the game.

Robertson is now in a very strong position for the CAA's annual offensive player of the year award. The full weekly award list follows:
