Former Villanova midfielder, Michael Seamon ('10), is currently trialing with the Philadelphia Union and looking to make a return to MLS.
Seamon was selected by Seattle Sounders FC out of Villanova in the second round of the 2010 MLS SuperDraft with the 27th pick overall. After three seasons in the Emerald City, Seamon's contract was not picked up by the Sounders in December 2012. He played with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of USL Pro (US Soccer's 3rd division) in 2013.
Although playing mostly as a forward as a Wildcat, Seamon developed a versatile skillset with the ability to play at right back and midfield in Seattle; a trait he hopes to sell the Union coaches on.
The Union are currently in pre-season training in Florida and MLS rosters need to be finalized on February 28th. Philadelphia opens their 2014 MLS Season on March 8th at Portland.
