Daily Villanova Wildcats links, today featuring what could have been, looking ahead to next year, and the first active college athlete comes out.

Happy Thursday! You haven't actually seen misery until you see a hungover Toronto that just witnessed their beloved Leafs get eliminated from playoff contention. They say Canadians are all really nice and friendly...until hockey is over. Then it's just grumpy.

On the bright side, I watched somebody throw up while ascending to the top of CN Tower. Never got final word on whether that was the hangover or vertigo.

Annual Bone Marrow Registry Drive to Be Held on Thursday, April 10 | Villanova University Official Athletic Site
Villanova University head football coach Andy Talley and the Wildcat football program will host their annual bone marrow testing drive on Thursday, April 10, on campus at the Connelly Center. The testing drive is open to the public (ages 18 to 44) and it will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

At the time, James Bell suggested on Twitter, it was just saying the right thing in the moment, a few polite words. Walking off the court after Connecticut had taken Villanova out of the NCAA tournament, the 'Nova senior said to UConn guard Shabazz Napier, "Win it all."

Behind a dominating performance by starter Kate Poppe, the Villanova softball team was able to end its five game skid as the Wildcats beat La Salle, 4-0, Wednesday afternoon at the La Salle Softball Field.

Baseball: Wildcats Fall To Lafayette, 6-3 | Villanova University Official Athletic Site
Eight different players had a hit and the middle of the batting order drove in all three runs but Villanova (10-19) allowed six unanswered runs in the fourth and fifth innings and lost to Lafayette (8-16) by a final count of 6-3 at Kamine Stadium on Tuesday afternoon. In their only midweek game this week the Wildcats built a 2-0 lead before the Leopards came back and went in front.
