Happy Monday, 'Nova Nation! The top question I have is for any Villanova graduates - how was it? Welcome to the alumni club, where you now buy your own drinks.

Speaking of graduations, I was at my sister's this weekend at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. A 4-hour graduation ceremony for under 600 students. It was sick and depraved.

Jill Biden was cheered and received a standing ovation for her keynote address to the graduates. Biden offered them down-to-earth advice for living their lives. She told them to remember that "everybody struggles, a little act of kindness can make a huge difference and have the confidence to stay true to your goals."

Junior right-hander JB Kole (Basking Ridge, N.J.) was dominant for the second consecutive start, senior relievers Matt Lengel (Devon, Pa.) and Matt Meurer (Katy, Texas) combined for the final six outs and Villanova (16-34, 5-13 BIG EAST) closed out the 2014 season with a 3-2 victory over Butler (20-30, 7-11 BIG EAST) in the second game of a doubleheader at the Villanova Ballpark at Plymouth on Saturday afternoon. The loss eliminated the Bulldogs from contention for the final spot in next week's BIG EAST Championship at the end of a wild final day that determined the regular season conference standings.

The Villanova rowing squad's season comes to an end following a sixth place finish at the inaugural American Athletic Conference Rowing Championship Sunday on Lake Mercer in West Windsor, N.J.

Villanova opened up competition at the ECAC Championship on the Princeton campus with eight athletes in competition at Weaver Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The highlights for the Wildcats on the day included three runners qualifying for the finals in their respective events. Junior Stephanie Schappert (Delray Beach, Fla.) and sophomore Kelsey Margey (Huntington, N.Y.) advanced in the 800 meters, while junior Emerald Walden (Lafayette Hill, Pa.) qualified for the final in the 100 meter hurdles.

On the first full day or competition at the IC4A Championship, redshirt freshman Josh Lampron (Mansfield, Mass.) recorded a personal best time in the 800 meters and junior Elbert Maxwell (Pittsburgh, Pa.) registered a fourth place finish in the long jump at Weaver Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
