Villanova Recruiting: "Villanova may be the team to beat for Jalen Brunson."

Michael O'Brien may be a new name for many Philly and east coast basketball recruiting followers. But, as the Prep Sports Editor for the Chicago Sun-Times he is the authority on Illinois scholastic sports and to say he has his ear to the ground on Chi-Town high school hoops would be an understatement.

This morning, O'Brien posted the following tweet regarding Villanova recruiting target, 5-Star point guard Jalen Brunson.

Brunson is the the best pure point guard in the 2015 class and recently tweeted out that Villanova made his Final 8.

He is ranked #35 Nationally by Scout, #14 by Rivals, and #32 by ESPN

The 6-foot-2, 180 pound guard from Lincolnshire, Illinois (Stevenson HS/Mac Irvin Fire AAU), put his skill on display at the recent Sacramento session of the Nike EYBL. Brunson averaged 16.3 points, 9.3 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game in Sacramento.

He brings a balanced game and can be compared to a point-guard with the caliber of Tyler Ennis who can control the tempo of a contest. Brunson brings three point range, high basketball IQ, tremendous ball-handling and a natural feel for the game combined with above-average passing skills and court vision.
