Six Villanova athletes traveled to Eugene, OR last week to compete in the 2014 NCAA Track & Field Championships.
Men's 800m
Sam Ellison finished 8th in his preliminary heat with a time of 1:51.07

Jordy Williamsz ran a 3:41.23 in his qualifying heat and finished 5th in the Final with a time of 3:40.25
Men's 5000m
Patrick Tiernan finished 6th in the Final clocking 13:31.25
Men's Long Jump
Elbert Maxwell jumped 6.99 meters and did not advance out of prelims.
Women's 1500m
Emily Lipari won her heat in a time of 4:21.14 with teammate Angel Piccarillo clocking a 4:21.47. In the Finals, Lipari finished 4th (4:19.60) and Piccarillo finished 12th (4:27.66).
Overall
On the team side, Texas A&M won the women's title and Villanova's results in the 1500 earned them the 42nd spot. For the men, Oregon won the national championship as Villanova finished 36th. No other Big East team earned points.
