Donovan Mitchell, a 6'3" 180 pound shooting guard who plies his trade at Brewster Academy has been offered by the Villanova Wildcats, per Corey Evans. The wing is a consensus 4-star prospect across the major recruiting services.

Mitchell received the offer shortly after participating in the Reebok Breakout Classic in Philadelphia where Jay Wright likely saw him first hand. Mitchell is considered one of the fastest risers in the 2015 rankings, having picked up offers from Louisville, Memphis, South Florida since the combine.

At the Reebok Breakout, Future150 noted, "Donovan is an amazing athlete who loves to play above the rim. He is an extremely active prospect who is also very skilled when slashing to the basket. He is really beginning to prove that he is one of the elite wings in his class."

The timing of the offer is intriguing given that top prospects like Jalen Brunson, Isaiah Briscoe, Bryant Crawford still weighing their options and Trey Lowe still waiting on a Villanova offer. Make of it what you will, but Jay Wright appears to be casting a wider net as he looks to find a backcourt mate for Donte DiVincenzo.
