Villanova Basketball Recruiting 2016 Big Board: September 2014 Edition

Your monthly offseason update on Villanova's 2016 recruiting effort.

Kevin Hoffman-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to the offseason! The 2015 board will occur on the first weekday of the month, and the 2016 board will be posted on roughly the 15th of the month.

The Villanova Wildcats are currently sitting pretty, as they say, with regards to recruiting. They've got three commitments lined up in the 2015 cycle already with guards Jalen Brunson and Donte DiVincenzo, plus forward Tim Delaney> The 2016 class is loaded with talent, and Wright will have plenty of scholarships to use.

H/T to Mike, we've got a nice graphic of the roster outlook, so you can get a good feel for how the next few years will play out. If things hold, Wright will have 5 scholarships available for this class.Roster_outlook

Backcourt

A huge area of need with Ryan Arcidiacono and Dylan Ennis both set to graduate the season before this class arrives. We'll have a better idea of what Phil Booth can handle soon, and Jalen Brunson looks like the point guard of the future. A guard who can score feels like the number one need.

Pritchard is the best PG on the board. Wright and Baker Dunleavy went to meet with him on the first day of the recruiting period last week. Dunleavy's Northwest roots should help in this recruitment, but oddly enough the stiffest compeition is coming from B1G/Big 12 country.

Villanova was Stevens first offer, and the as he's local, they've been thought of as the frontrunner. Stevens has been quiet on his recruitment thus far.

Singh picked up an offer from Jay Wright in October last year, but there hasn't been much noise in his recruitment since. He's behind Lamar Stevens in priority.

Frontcourt

With Daniel Ochefu set to graduate as this class arrives on campus, it's imperative that Wright finds a good player to compliment Daryl Reynolds and Tim Delaney.
