It sounds like Jalen Brunson enjoyed his visit to Villanova

Could a verbal commitment be imminent?

Neither Jalen Brunson or his father Rick have spoken publicly just yet as they head out after a weekend visit to Villanova, but via multiple sources, it sounds like the trip was a success for Jay Wright and the Wildcats' coaching staff. Long considered a dark horse in this recruiting battle because of the Philadelphia-ties, it looks like Villanova has thrown themselves to the forefront of the pack for the time being - about as much as you could possibly hope for out of an official visit without a verbal commitment.

Rumors began to circulate on Saturday evening that Brunson could commit to Villanova as soon as this coming week, though with a trip on deck next weekend to Temple (along with scheduled visits to Michigan State and Purdue), those reports might be premature. It's hard to imagine Brunson not making the trek to North Broad considering the school is his father's alma mater.

Further good vibrations can be felt via the 247 Crystal Ball for Jalen Brunson - entering the weekend Villanova had just one prediction in their favor, but within a matter of hours on Saturday morning and afternoon 4 more picks came in for the 'Cats - most notably from CBS' Jeff Borzello and 247 Director of Scouting Jerry Meyer.

Next weekend's trip to Temple still looms large, but keep an eye out this week as we're likely to hear more about the visit once the Brunson's land back in Illinois.
