The most important aspect of this past weekend was the 50-6 statement win over Fordham that announced to the conference and country that Villanova is for real this season. The aspect we haven't talked about much in the past, mostly due to a lack of information available at the FCS level, is the importance of recruiting visits on home football weekends.
Current, Villanova has eight reported commitments. With 17 seniors listed on the roster, that puts them about halfway to their full quota for the current cycle.
Here's who we saw at Villanova Stadium on Saturday, via the power of social medial. Verbal commitments are in italics.
- OL Louie Csaszar - 6'4", 290 lbs. - Liberty (PA)
- RB Lamont Harris - 5'9", 185 lbs. - St. Augustine (NJ)
- DB AJ Baxter - 6'0", 190 lbs. - St. Augustine (NJ)
- WR Kevin Williams - 6'1", 165 lbs. - Maple Shade (NJ)
The Wildcats are currently on a bye week, meaning that they could technically host some prospects this coming weekend, but without a game during the bye week, it's more likely though that we'll see an expanded list for their home date with James Madison on September 20th.
