I don't know about you, but seeing NC State lose last night brought some closure to last weekend for me. It also helped that I hit on a nice parlay last night, but that's besides the point. On to the Elite 8!
The evening's first matchup features two of the best teams in the NCAA Tournament. Both Wisconsin and Arizona struggled at times versus their opponents on Thursday, but finished their games on a run to put North Carolina and Xavier away, respectively. This is a heavyweight clash and a rematch of last year's Elite 8 contest in which the Badgers advanced to the Final 4.
The late game features presumptive favorite Kentucky going up against Notre Dame, who has advanced to the Elite 8 for the first time since 1979. The Irish can really shoot it, but whether they can match up against Kentucky's size in the frontcourt remains to be seen. Mike Brey employs a similar playing style to Jay Wright, so it will be interesting to see how the Irish play tonight.
