"Play hard... Go after every rebound... Be a defensive force." -Reynolds on his role

Fans had a moderately positive outlook on Reynolds entering his freshman year. While the 3-star (ESPN) power forward's playing time was up in the air, his height made many believe Jay would find a spot for him quickly. He saw ten minutes each against the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers and Towson Tigers, and that would be the most he got all season.

Darryl did not play in 13 games last season, including the final game of the season against the Connecticut Huskies. He sat on the bench seeing his fellow freshmen teammates Josh Hart and Kris Jenkins get 21.4 and 11.7 MPG, respectively. To add to the darker outlook, this summer both he and Jenkins competed in the Global Sports Academy.  While Jenkins received rave reviews on both his offense and defense, there was no word on Reynolds' performance.

Best Case Scenario: Reynolds' can find a spot off the bench whenever Daniel Ochefu gets into early foul trouble or needs a breather. He builds confidence in his time on the court and he can start to see consistent minutes as the season progresses. He becomes a key bench rebounder Wright can rely on. During Media Day, Reynolds noted his role, "Play hard... Go after every rebound... Be a defensive force."

Worst Case Scenario: Reynolds sees consistent minutes early in the season, but with a lack of experience he performs below expectations and does not secure a more solid role going forward. He gets lost on the bench and his confidence dips thereafter.
