There is just one change on offense and one on defense in this week's Villanova football depth chart, and neither is on the top line. Freshman Louie Csaszar steps in to replace Matt Donoghue at right guard on offense, while Mike Williams will be replacing Bryan Osei as a back-up defensive end, and backing up both end positions.
Osei, a transfer from Temple, was helped off the field last weekend and it is somewhat concerning to see that Williams is backing up both end spots. The move calls into question the depth that the 'Cats have at that position.
Last week saw freshman Jarrett McClenton shoot from the deep end of the depth chart to the top of the slot receiver position. While senior Aaron Wells and sophomore Taurus Philips are still getting reps, the coaching staff has been desperate to get their talented youngster more involved in the offense.
A week ago, the 'Cats also reshuffled things on the offensive line, moving Kyle Wallace from center to right guard, swapping positions with junior Jonathan Green. That game also saw Jason Ceneus overtake Trey Johnson as the starting cornerback.
